Before He Fell And Died, The 6-year-old Boy Sat On The Cover Of A Well Made Of Plywood

JAKARTA - The process of evacuating BP, a 6-year-old boy who died when he fell into a well behind his house on Belly street, Mekar IV alley, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, took place dramatically.

Because the 20 meter deep well has a diameter of 1 meter, it becomes an obstacle in the process of evacuating victims.

10 minutes after the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-department (Gulkarmat) officer arrived at the location, the victim was successfully lifted from the bottom of the well. When evacuated, the victim had vomited water from his mouth.

Supriyadi, a firefighter picket officer, said the incident occurred when the victim accompanied his mother who was washing dishes behind the house.

Suddenly the victim immediately climbed onto the cover of the well, made of plywood. It turned out that the plywood cover was already fragile, so the victim fell into the well.

"The well is still functioning and has water. When the child fell, he grabbed the pipe and screamed," said Supriyadi to reporters, Thursday, February 24.

Before falling to the well, the victim's father and residents at the location tried to save the victim who asked for help while still holding on to the paralon pipe. But the effort was fruitless.

Unable to bear the weight, the 6-year-old boy finally fell into the well.

Meanwhile, according to Yuliana's testimony, the victim's neighbor, she also heard screams for help from the victim's mother.

"His mother was washing dishes when he fell, his mother is beside him. His mother looked at him, the child is near her mother. Her mother also didn't know her child slipped or what. This is a bath well," he said.

Now, the victim's body has been handed over to the family for the funeral procession.

As previously reported, Thursday, February 24, residents of Belly street, Mekar IV alley were excited to learn that a 6-year-old boy with the initials BP died after falling into a well. The incident occurred when the victim was playing near the well with his mother who was washing dishes.

"We have deployed five personnel to evacuate the victim. At around 15.13 western Indonesia time, the victim's body was found from the well. The victim was evacuated dead," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Head, Gatot Sulaeman, to reporters, Thursday, February 24.
