In The Aftermath Of Arema's Kakalahan From Persebaya, Aremania's Angry Person Calls Aji Santoso A Traitor
JAKARTA - Persebaya won 1-0 over Arema FC in the East Java derby in Week 27 of Liga 1 2021/2022. In the aftermath of the defeat suffered by Edan Singo, several unscrupulous Arema supporters, commonly known as Aremania, went berserk.
The Aremania's anger was expressed by attacking and vandalizing the football academy owned by Aji Santoso in Malang (ASIFA).
In the video circulating on social media, the elements can be seen scribbling and placing banners on the walls with harsh words. One of the writings stated Aji Santoso as a "traitor of the city of Malang".
Not only that, the academy's operational car was also the target of the emotional outbursts of the people. Where there are also graffiti containing insults and criticisms of Aji Santoso as the coach of Persebaya.
"Asifa's school car became one of the targets for the destruction of Aremania elements," wrote the Instagram account @ultras.id showing the situation at the location.
It turns out that the terror at ASIFA is not the first time Arema FC's hard-line fans have done it. In 2017 a similar incident also occurred.
At that time, Aji Santoso was still the coach of Arema FC who was terrorized because the Singo Edan Team's performance in League 1 was not good. However, the terror back then was not what it is now.
Actually, Aji Santoso is already familiar with this kind of terror, because when he was a player he also crossed from Arema to Persebaya. However, he is known as a professional figure, where for him rivalry only exists on the field.
Apart from the tantrums of Aremania elements, Persebaya's victory in Wednesday's match, 23 February not only made Bajul Ijo pocket three additional points. Aji Santoso's troops also managed to break Arema's 23-time unbeaten record during the Liga 1 competition this season.
