Guntur Soekarnoputra Tells The Story Of The Figure Of Doctor Suharto, Dare To Put Up His Body When Soekarno Was About To Be Killed By The Dutch

JAKARTA - Bung Karno's son, Mohammad Guntur Soekarnoputra, supports the suggestion that Dr dr Suharto, President Soekarno's personal doctor and Vice President Mohammad Hatta, be given the title of a national hero.

"I totally agree that Doctor Suharto is made a national hero and I fully support it," said Gunur in a press release in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, February 22.

Guntur had time to tell how doctor Suharto was an important figure for his father, Soekarno. "That doctor Suharto was a man who dared to put his body up for Bung Karno's safety," he said.

When the Dutch came back with the Allies, Soekarno was the most wanted person and would be killed. So, you have to go undercover and move around.

"One of the safest places for Bung Karno is at Doctor Suharto's residence on Jalan Kramat Raya which is now a pharmacy. Bung Karno stays there all night from being chased by NICA," said Guntur.

At the same event, the Secretary General of the PDI-P, Hasto Kristiyanto, said that the good relationship between Doctor Suharto and Tabib Sher made several high-ranking allies help save Bung Karno when his car was intercepted by the NICA Army under armed siege.

"When NICA failed to kill Bung Karno because of the assistance of allied troops from India, then NICA vented its anger by destroying Bung Karno's car, which he obtained from the donation of Suharto's doctor," he said.
