Limited Funds Only IDR 5 Billion, Riau Islands Governor Asks Schools To Recommend Scholarship Recipients
KEPRI - The Riau Islands Provincial Government (Kepri) has prepared a scholarship budget of IDR 5 billion in 2022 for high school/vocational high school students to students in the local area.
Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad stated that his party is currently making standard operating procedures related to the distribution of the scholarship funds. "With a limited budget, we want the scholarship to be right on target," he said in Tanjungpinang, Antara, Monday, February 21.
Ansar also wants scholarship recipients to be directly recommended by the school and college education units, because they know more about prospective students and students who meet the criteria for getting scholarships. "Sufficient recommendations from the education unit, do not let there be recommendations from others," said Ansar.
The former legislator in the DPR RI is committed to increasing the amount of the scholarship budget in the following year, if the results of the evaluation of this year's scholarship program go well.
He emphasized that the scholarship program aims to encourage students and students to complete education according to the field they want to master, especially for those who have problems in terms of financing.
According to him, education has always been the main priority of the provincial government to create a golden generation for the progress of the nation, especially Riau Islands. "Quality education will produce reliable human resources," said Ansar.
