West Java Prosecutor's Office Files An Appeal For Herry Wirawan's Lifetime Sentence, The File Has Been Registered With The Bandung District Court
BANDUNG - The West Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) filed an appeal against the decision of the Bandung District Court (PN) which sentenced Herry Wirawan to life in prison.
Head of the Legal Information Section of the West Java Prosecutor's Office, Dodi Gazali Emil, said that the file for the appeal had been registered with the Bandung District Court. However, he has not been able to state the contents of the appeal.
"Of course the prosecutor (prosecutor) will explain; but what is clear is that we have filed an appeal today," said Dodi at the Bandung District Court, Antara, Monday, February 21.
According to him, the Public Prosecutor hopes that many things will be considered by the panel of judges in making the appeal. Later, he added, the Public Prosecutor would explain the legal reasons for the appeal against the decision.
"We can explain the reasons for the appeal later," he said.
The Bandung District Court Panel of Judges previously sentenced Herry Wirawan to life imprisonment. Herry was found guilty of committing this despicable act.
The panel of judges at the Bandung District Court rejected the prosecutor's demand for the death penalty for Herry Wirawan. The Panel of Judges also rejected the prosecutor's demand to impose chemical castration for the perpetrators of the rape of the 13 female students.
