Viral TNI Person In Jayapura Confess To Killing Indigenous Papuans Confirmed To Be Hoax
JAYAPURA - Video showing an individual TNI Serda JYK who claims to be a member of Battalion 756/WMS is viral on social media. Serda JYK admitted to killing indigenous Papuans (OAP).
Serda JYK has been arrested and investigated. The Head of the Intelligence Section (KasiIntel) Korem 172/PWY Lt. Col. Kav Kristiyanto asked for information and made legal efforts related to the circulation of the viral JYK video on social media.
Several steps have been taken, namely reporting to the police related to OTK who spread the hoax video, including the violence committed by OTK to JYK along with his parents.
KasiIntel explained that, in fact, the statement from the TNI personnel who went viral was not true or a hoax. JYK is an active TNI member from Kodim 1712/Sarmi who previously served at Infantry Battalion 756/WMS and currently has permission to seek treatment in Jayapura because both of his legs are sick.
Serda JYK explained that the incident began when his party and their family in a car almost collided with a motorbike driver driven by a resident.
Here there was a commotion that caused a misunderstanding when JYK pointed a gun at the two riders.
After the incident, JYK and his parents entered the store and went shopping. After leaving the shop, suddenly there were a lot of people who committed acts of violence against JYK and his parents.
Residents then asked JYK to apologize and record it with a cellphone. During the investigation, JYK denied talking about indigenous Papuans.
"JYK said that it was impossible for his party to say this, because he is a TNI personnel who is also an Indigenous Papuan who adheres to military discipline in his duties," reads the written statement received.
This incident was reported to the Jayapura Police with a police report Number: LP / 123 / II / 2022 / Papua / Res Jayapura related to the crime of beatings and a report of libel and the spread of hoax news will be made.
