Alert! Positive Cases Of COVID-19 In North Sumatra Increase By 2,349 People

MEDAN - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) reported that the number of confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 from North Sumatra Province increased by 2,349 people per day. The accumulation rose to 122,426 cases.

Based on data from the North Sumatra COVID-19 Handling Task Force quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 19, it showed that 2,346 people were cases of local transmission and three cases of overseas travelers (PPLN).

In addition to new cases, there was an increase in the number of recovered patients as many as 461 people so that the accumulation rose to 105,569 cases.

Then, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 in North Sumatra increased by four people, bringing the total to 2,921 people.

With this addition, there are currently 13,936 active cases or patients undergoing treatment and isolation due to COVID-19. That number represents an additional 1,884 people compared to Friday, February 18.

Nationally, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Saturday increased by 59,384 cases, of which 58,572 were local transmissions and 812 were overseas travelers. The current accumulation is 5,149,021 cases.

Nationally recovered cases of COVID-19 increased by 34,699 people, bringing the total to 4,481,909 people. Then nationally, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 increased by 158 people, bringing the total to 146,202 people

The COVID-19 Task Force asked all components of the community to remain disciplined in carrying out health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance.

Then, it is expected not to carry out social mobility that has a high risk of COVID-19 transmission so that it can reduce the number of positive cases in the country.
