COVID-19 Update As Of February 19: New Cases 59,384, Cases Cured 34,699

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. Of the 289,780 specimens examined today, the results were 59,384 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,149,021 people and active cases have increased by 24,527 to 520,910 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Saturday, February 19.

Today's recovered cases increased by 34,699 cases, bringing the total to 4,481,909 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 158 people and a total of 142,202 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 12,601 cases and a total of 913,512 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with 9,453 new cases with a total of 1,112,531 cases. East Java with 7,916 new cases and a total of 485,091 cases. Central Java with 5,225 new cases and a total of 535,158 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 11,160 recovered cases. Followed by West Java 7,309 cases recovered. East Java with an additional 5,635 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 4,012 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 80,569,140.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 17.42 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 36,710 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 189,533,698 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 139,946,128 the second dose of vaccination.

Meanwhile, the third dose of vaccination was 8,326,662. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia was 208,265,720 people.
