Klopp Confirms Diogo Jota Is Absent For Liverpool Against Norwich

JAKARTA - Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp turned off one of his team's attackers, Diogo Jota will miss the match against Norwich City in the 26th week of the 2021/2022 Premier League on Saturday night.

Quoted from Sky Sport, Klopp said he could not confirm how long Jota would be absent from defending the Reds. This is related to observations that the medical team still needs to make to see the progress of the player's injury.

"He will not be available this weekend but for how long remains unclear. We need further observations. There was something with some of the ligaments and around the ankle, but not the ligaments, something else," Klopp said.

Klopp also said, so far there is no clarity about the injury suffered by Jota and all possibilities can still happen. Liverpool are still waiting.

Furthermore, the German coach also explained about the special shoes that Jota had used after the match against Inter on Wednesday. According to Klopp, it is a normal procedure and has reiterated that Jota will be out this weekend.

"So almost anything is possible at the moment, it will go very quickly and unfortunately vice versa. So we have to wait," explained Klopp.

"Everyone saw his photo with him in special shoes. It's a normal procedure, even when you feel something they put you in those special shoes. (Jota's presence) For the weekend of course not," continued the coach.

Regarding Jota's condition, in the middle of last week the player appeared when Liverpool won 2-0 against Inter in the first leg of the Champions League last 16. But he was forced to come off at half-time and was replaced by Roberto Firmino.

After this match, Diogo Jota was caught on camera wearing special protective shoes. This situation then raises the question of what kind of injury he is going through and how long Jota has to be sidelined.
