The Association Of Indonesian Puppeters Will Still Report Khalid Basalamah To The Criminal Investigation Unit Of The Indonesian National Police

PURWOKERTO - The Indonesian Puppeters Association (Pepadi) will continue to report Ustadz Khalid Basalamah to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police even though the preacher has clarified and apologized for his statement about wayang.

"Yesterday (Wednesday, 16/2) I had a meeting with the legal team and Central Pepadi in Jakarta. After we studied it, Khalid Basalamah's clarification was not an apology as we intended," said Pepadi Coordinator for the Banyumas Raya Region, Bambang Barata Aji, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 17th.

Pepadi asked Ustadz Khalid Basalamah to apologize publicly to all the masterminds through mainstream mass media and social media.

According to him, Khalid Basalamah's clarification was limited to social media, which was later quoted by a number of mass media. Pepadi demanded Basamalah's apology directly in the mass media.

In addition, the material for clarification and apology delivered by Khalid Basalamah through the Khalid Basalamah Official Youtube account was also not in line with Pepadi's expectations, especially Pepadi for the Greater Banyumas Region.

"We're not asking for clarification, because what I'm asking is Khalid Basalamah to apologize to the masterminds and so on. He only apologizes to all parties, including those who feel disturbed or offended. This is very common, that's not what we mean, " he insisted.

Bambang said Pepadi decided to continue reporting Ustadz Khalid Basalamah to the Criminal Investigation Unit at the National Police Headquarters on Monday, February 21, at 10:00 WIB.

This was done because his party believed that Khalid Basalamah would not carry out the ultimatum from Pepadi for the Banyumas Raya Region, namely watching the wayang purwa performances in Central Java and the wayang orang Barata in Jakarta, and visiting the wayang purwa industry in Yogyakarta within 7x24 hours from Sunday, February 13th.

The Central Pepadi legal advisory team has also consulted with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters regarding the reporting plan.

"Tomorrow, Monday (21/2), we will be waiting at the Criminal Investigation Unit at the National Police Headquarters, and the one who will report directly is Central Pepadi," he explained.

He said the reporting was not based on hatred, but rather an element of blasphemy against a noble culture that has received world recognition.

Previously, Pepadi Banyumas Raya Region would report Ustadz Khalid Basalamah regarding the statement that wayang is prohibited in Islam and it is better to destroy it.
