Trade Minister Lutfi Brings Good News, End Of February 2022 And Beyond There Is No Shortage Of Cooking Oil

JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Muhammad Lutfi ensured that the situation of the scarcity of premium and simple cooking oil in packaged form would return to normal in the next week, by the end of February 2022 at the latest.

"I'm sure that in the next week it will return to normal and by the end of February, everything will return to normal," said Muhammad Lutfi at Pabaeng-baeng Market Makassar, quoted from Antara, Thursday, February 17.

He said the certainty of stock needs and prices will return to normal because the supply chain was previously disrupted, causing shortages.

Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi stated that the community's need for cooking oil in February was 280 million liters and it would be fulfilled before February passed.

"We need 280 million liters and as of last Tuesday it has been filled by a third, there are 63 million liters that have been distributed and this has gradually improved," he said.

He mentioned that there were problems with the smooth operation of the production and distribution of cooking oil, resulting in a shortage of cooking oil in the market and now things have returned to normal.

"Because there was a disturbance in its operation and yesterday it started operating again last Tuesday. God willing, everything will improve," said Trade Minister Lutfi.

According to him, his arrival to Makassar was to ensure that distribution would return to normal and convey that the supply would be stable in the next week.
