Abramovich's Net Worth Drops IDR 12.5 Trillion In A Day As Investors Fear Russia Attacking Ukraine

JAKARTA - Roman Abramovich's net worth has decreased by 650 million pounds or equivalent to Rp. 12.5 trillion in just one day. Reportedly, Russia's invasion of Ukraine sparked panic among investors.

The tension between Russia and Ukraine as the threat of Russian invasion is increasing day by day. Now, the fear of the invasion is affecting stock prices.

According to Forbes, Abramovich has a total net worth of £10 billion. The wealth was built from investments in various business sectors in the last three decades.

Abramovich has been the owner of Chelsea since the summer of 2003. Since then, the London club has won several titles including five league titles and two Champions Leagues. Most recently, the Blues won the Club World Cup after beating Palmeiras.

One of the companies that Abramovich owns is Evraz, a steel and mining company that runs most of its operations in Russia.

The boss's share value in Evraz reportedly fell 28.6 percent on Monday as investors fear sanctions will be imposed on Russia if they attack Ukraine.

According to a report by The Sun, Evraz's share price has so far fallen 29 percent, causing Abramovich's net worth to fall by around £650 million in a day.
