Convinced That The Construction Of The Circuit Will Be On Time, Jakpro: Shorter Than The Moto GP Track

JAKARTA - PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) believes that the construction of the Formula E circuit can proceed on time. The circuit began construction a few days ago and is targeted for completion in three months.

Vice Managing Director of Formula E Jakpro, Gunung Kartiko said that the Formula E circuit could be done in a short time because this track is shorter than the track for other racing events such as the Moto GP.

"The process of working on the Formula E circuit with standard FIA grade 1 technical specifications can be carried out on time, considering the track is shorter than the Formula 1 track and Moto GP," said Gunung in a statement, Tuesday, February 15.

Gunung also claims that the circuit design to the implementation of the track construction is always monitored by Formula E Operation as the holder of the Formula E license.

"This has been verified with FEO and its progress is monitored for 24 hours through a digital control tower and project management system with a high level of monitoring accuracy," said Gunung.

Regarding the talk of selling tickets to watch Formula E in March before the circuit was completed, Gunung claimed it was reasonable.

"In the global entertainment business, it is a natural practice to sell tickets before the exact location is determined, but the destination country already exists," he said.

It is known, Jakpro targets the construction of the electric car racing circuit to be completed in April. Then, the circuit will be tested in May before Formula E is held on June 4, 2022.

A number of DPRD members from the PDIP and PSI factions doubted that the circuit could be built properly because of the limited construction time.

Some time ago, the chairman of the DKI DPRD from the PDIP faction, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, viewed the construction of the circuit from February to April as an irrational target for Jakpro.

"I'm an Advisor Consultant (Moto GP) Mandalika, I know. Making a race track is not like making a Tamiya track. It's irrational to build 3 months. The rationale is 2 years boss. Must be mature," said Prasetyo.
