TNI-Polri Connect Community Communication Pros And Cons Of Andesite Mining In Wadas Village
JAKARTA - TNI and Polri officers continue to try to maintain communication between residents who are pro and contra of the andesite mining plan in Wadas Village, Bener District, Purworejo Regency, Central Java.
The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol. M. Iqbal Alqudusy, said that the efforts of the TNI and Polri to maintain communication between the pro and contra residents in Wadas Village, among others by holding psychoeducation, social assistance, and friendship with the kiai.
He conveyed that the TNI-Polri apparatus and the village government were trying their best to create a cool and conducive situation in Wadas Village.
Although the Head of Wadas Village, Fahri Setyanto, stated that the residents' lives were normal, it was known that there was still a reluctance to communicate between residents who were for and against the plan to mine materials for the construction of the Bener Dam.
To overcome this, he said, TNI and Polri personnel worked hand in hand to carry out community visits, including friendship with a number of religious figures.
"The activity is led by the police chief and the military commander who is supported by Polres, Polsek, and the Bener Koramil," said M. Iqbal.
He said that in this activity the Purworejo Police counselor provided psychoeducational training to residents. This training is intended to motivate residents to work and think positively in their daily lives.
"This training is useful so that residents are open-minded and willing to accept the differences that exist in their environment. After all, differences are something that is common in social life," he said.
This activity is colored by the provision of social assistance, cleaning, and painting the prayer room. On that occasion, the TNI and Polri personnel kept in touch with religious leaders as well as providing affection in the form of a number of worship equipment and the Holy Quran.

He explained that in the implementation of sambang activities and social services in Wadas Village, TNI and Polri personnel tried to embrace all groups.
