Who Is The Conglomerate Osbert Lyman, A Property Tycoon Who Owns IDR 11.4 Trillion With A Portfolio To Build Casa Domaine And Kota Baru Parahyangan, Bandung

JAKARTA - The property sector is one of the businesses engaged in by many tycoons in the country who are included in the list of the richest people in Indonesia. One of them is the owner of property development company Lyman Group, Osbert Lyman.

Although his name is not as famous as the late Eka Tjipta Widjaja, the owner of Sinar Mas, the late Ciputra, or Mochtar Riady, the controller of the Lippo Group, Osbert Lyman's role in the property sector is not small.

Osbert Lyman, in the Forbes list of the richest people in Indonesia 2021, has a wealth of 800 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 11.4 trillion. Osbert Lyman is also ranked 49th richest person in Indonesia.

This 72-year-old man is known through the family company Lyman Group which was founded by his father, Susanta Lyman in 1959. Lyman Group was previously known as Satya Djaya Raya Group, as a business group in the property sector.

His business started from trading natural products, then expanded to other business businesses such as timber, property, building materials & distribution, as well as oil & gas mining.

The name Lyman Group shined again when it built Casa Domaine, a classy project in the BNI City development area, Central Jakarta. The project consists of twin luxury apartment towers with 323 units with an estimated value of more than IDR 2 trillion

In collaboration with the Salim Group and Kerry Group, the three conglomerates share ownership with the same composition of 33.33 percent. Apart from owning one of the tallest buildings in Indonesia, other portfolios of the Lyman Group also include the Shangri-La . Hotel

Furthermore, Lyman Group also has a portfolio that is no less flashy, namely Kota Baru Parahyangan, in Padalarang, Bandung Regency, West Java. Kota Baru Parahyangan is a large-scale housing project with an area of 1,250 hectares.

In this project, Lyman targets the upper-middle segment with house prices in the range of Rp600 million-Rp2 billion per unit.
