Confirms Viral Video 'Waterfall' At Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Angkasa Pura II: Area Has Been Sterilized

JAKARTA – The viral video that has been widely circulated in cyberspace related to the 'Waterfall' at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has been confirmed by the airport manager of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero).

In a written statement to VOI, Senior Manager Branch Communication and Legal Soekarno-Hatta Airport M. Holik Muardi said that the incident occurred on February 9, 2022.

"Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds occurred in the Soekarno-Hatta Airport area on February 9, 2022," he said, Friday, February 11.

According to Holik, this incident was due to extreme weather which resulted in disturbances at one point on the roof of the Boarding Lounge Gate 7 Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"At around 17.17 WIB, there was heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, so that some of the spandex sheets which were part of the roof of Terminal 3 were folded and lifted," he said.

Upon this incident, Holik and his staff immediately took quick action in the form of handling and controlling the situation in a relatively short time.

"When we see a possible disturbance, the surrounding area will be sterilized from passengers and airport workers. So that disturbances at one roof point at Gate 7 can be anticipated for later repairs," he explained.

For information, today the editors found an image showing that one part of the roof at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal 3 had a leak. It appears that the seepage slowly enlarges which is then accompanied by a large amount of water spilling.

Luckily, before the incident escalated, the officers had secured the location by giving a boundary line around the damaged area.

Meanwhile, the video in question was shared by Pennywise Loftus-Cheek's Twitter account at @jadoya_56 on Thursday, February 10 by attaching the caption "Waterfall rides are not only available at (Airport) Changi (Singapore)."
