JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Housing has prepared a number of flats (rusun) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) for additional accommodation facilities for spectators of the Mandalika MotoGP motorcycle racing event.
"The Ministry of PUPR is ready to make the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP successful, which will be held in March. We have also prepared a number of flats as additional accommodation, which can temporarily be used for lodging for visitors or guests at the Mandalika MotoGP show in NTB," said Director General of Housing at the Ministry of PUPR Iwan Suprijanto, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 10.
Iwan explained that the Directorate General of Housing at the PUPR Ministry has assigned the Nusa Tenggara I Housing Provision Agency (P2P) to coordinate with local governments and universities and flat aid recipients to immediately prepare the accommodation facilities.
This is done so that the facilities that have been built can be maintained and cared for properly so that MotoGP visitors also get good service.
"We will continue to coordinate with all relevant parties and hope that the MotoGP will run well," said Iwan.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Nusa Tenggara I Housing Provision Agency (P2P), Rini Dyah Mawarty explained, one of the flats that can be used for accommodation facilities in the implementation of MotoGP is the student flat of Al Azhar Islamic University Mataram, NTB.

In addition to the use of flats as additional accommodation support, the Ministry of PUPR has also built tourism residential facilities (Sarhunta) through activities to improve the quality of decent housing or known as Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) as many as 915 units.
The number is divided into two, namely 300 units in Central Lombok Regency to support the MotoGP event at the Mandalika circuit and 98 units in North Lombok Regency.
For the 398 units, all of them are designated as homestays. While the remaining 517 units were carried out to improve the quality of uninhabitable houses along the corridors of the Mandalika tourism area.
The construction of the Sarhunta at the Mandalika Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP) has been implemented since May 2020 and was completely completed in December 2020, involving 5,123 workers. The development costs are sourced from the APBN worth Rp. 62.2 billion and self-help support of Rp. 10.8 billion.
