Cashier Steals Mobile, PT Pusat Pawn Indonesia In Kuta Loses Tens Of Millions

BADUNG - The woman with the initials RPS (21) was arrested by the Kuta Police, Bali, for stealing at her own place of work in the warehouse of the PT Pusat Gadai Indonesia Branch office, Kuta, Badung Regency.

"For this incident, PT Pusat Pawn Indonesia suffered a loss of Rp. 44,250,000," said Head of Kuta Police, Kompol Orpa SM Takalapeta, Thursday, February 10.

The beginning of the mobile phone theft was discovered on Friday, February 4. The reporter who checked the goods found that the pawned item was missing.

When the CCTV footage was checked, it was seen that the cashier's employee entered the warehouse for the pawned goods.

"But the person concerned (the perpetrator) when asked did not admit it. After being shown the CCTV footage, the person concerned finally admitted that he took the three lost pawns," he added.

According to the police, the perpetrators took Samsung S21, iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

"The three items have been sold by the person concerned and the money has been used for personal needs," said the Orpa Police Commissioner.

The perpetrator was arrested by the police on Tuesday, February 8th. The boarding house occupied by the perpetrators was also searched and an iPhone 13 Pro Max was found.

"The perpetrator admitted that the stolen goods were sold to an unknown person for Rp. 16 million, in the Batu Bulan area, Gianyar. The money from the sale was used up for daily necessities," he said.
