Prosecutors In Aceh Stop Persecution Cases Through Restorative Justice, The Reason Is The Suspect And Victim Have Reconciliated

BANDA ACEH - The Public Prosecutor of the Gayo Lues District Attorney's Office, Aceh has stopped prosecuting cases of persecution through restorative justice.

Head of the Intelligence Section, Handri, said that the abuse case involved the suspect Muhammad Nur Alias Mat Nur Bin Sigak.

"This case has been terminated because the suspect and the victim have reconciled. On that basis, the facilitator prosecutor made a request to the Aceh Chief of Staff to terminate the case. This case has entered the prosecution stage," said Handri, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 9.

Handri said the case that was suspected of Muhammad Nur Alias Mat Nur Bin Sigak was a case of persecution. For his actions, the suspect Muhammad Nur Alias Mat Nur Bin Sigak was charged with Article 351 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

Handri said the implementation of restorative justice was carried out some time ago. The implementation was attended by the victim and his family, community leaders and investigators from the Gayo Lues Police.

From the results of the implementation of restorative justice, the parties agreed to make peace. Furthermore, the peace agreement was submitted to the Aceh High Prosecutor's Office and the Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes.

"The Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes has approved efforts to settle criminal cases through restorative justice," said Handri again.

With the approval of the settlement of the case with restorative justice, the public prosecutor issued a decision to terminate the prosecution (SKPP) on behalf of the suspect Muhammad Nur Alias Mat Nur Bin Sigak.

"The prosecutor who handled the case has submitted the SKPP to the person concerned. With the issuance of this SKPP, the prosecution of the person concerned is stopped," he said.
