In The Aftermath Of A Deadly Accident, Bantul Police Urges Tourism Buses Not To Cross The Imogiri-Dlingo Road
BANTUL- The Bantul Police, Yogyakarta Special Region, has appealed to tourism buses and large vehicles not to cross Jalan Imogiri-Dlingo following a single tourism bus accident in the Bukit Bego area.
"We are only appealing first because it has not been a decision made by the Governor of DIY or the Regent of Bantul. So once again we urge buses and large vehicles not to cross the area," said Head of the Bantul Police Resort (Kapolres) AKBP Ihsan in Bantul, Antara , Tuesday, February 8th.
The appeal is so that a single traffic accident on a tourist bus carrying a group of tourists from Sukoharjo, Central Java does not happen again in Bantul.
"To strengthen it, of course, a joint meeting with relevant stakeholders is needed, there are five pillars in this traffic forum meeting, such as the Department of Transportation, the police and related agencies," said the Chief of Police.
In the joint meeting, said the Head of the Resort Police, the police team that has been tasked with conducting the scene of a tourism bus accident will provide recommendations for further issuance of a decree or regulation of the governor (pergub) or regent (perbup).
"So regarding the road, whether buses and large vehicles are allowed to pass or not, or what, the technicalities will be discussed together," he said.
However, he said, while waiting for the results of the crime scene and data collection by the investigation team to find out the cause of the bus accident, his party appealed to the public, especially those using large tourism buses, not to cross the road.
As an alternative, he said, if a group of tourists or the public using a tourist bus wants to travel to the Mangunan Dlingo Bantul Pine Forest, they can pass the Patuk Gunung Kidul T-junction to the south towards Mangunan.
"So please take advantage of Jalan Patuk, Patuk is passable, it's more feasible to walk. So the long-term plan is like that, but still everything must be based on a joint decision agreed upon in the traffic forum meeting," he said.
