Minister Sandiaga Uno's Promise For The Indonesian Film Industry
JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno promised to continue to look for ways to activate the tourism industry and the creative economy in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic. He continues to provide support to the industrial sector he heads.
One of them is the Indonesian film industry. Through Family Sunday Movie (FSM) 2022, Sandiaga Uno conveyed his commitments.
"We are committed to appreciating, facilitating, and expanding the network of film makers and the local film community to give birth to a new generation that will become the driving force for the creative industry in Indonesia," said Sandiaga Uno in a written statement, Tuesday, February 8.
The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, stated that FSM is a forum for film actors to produce quality original works, so that they have selling points and are able to compete on the national and even international levels.
In addition, the former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta also said that with film actors being able to distribute their works, there would be wide open employment opportunities for the community.
"Let's make the best use of this moment so that it becomes a solution in the midst of limitations. Together we are creative, create great and useful works so that job opportunities can be opened for the wider community," said Sandiaga Uno.
Therefore, Sandiaga invites all parties, ranging from students, students, film communities to creative economy actors throughout Indonesia to participate in the 2022 FSM event.
"The only condition is that they are Indonesian citizens or domiciled in Indonesia for directors, producers and screenwriters in films who register themselves," he said.
Furthermore, continued Sandiaga, the short films made are fiction or documentaries made in Indonesia.
"You can raise any theme as long as it doesn't contain elements of SARA," added Sandiaga Uno.
Later, the FSM Jury will select the two best short films each month. The winners will receive certificates, cash, merchandise, publications on national media portals and be invited to meet & greet events with themselves and national filmmakers.
