PDAM Excavation Worker In Kelapa Dua Dies Buried In Soil
TANGERANG - Dapa Muhamad (21), a worker for a drinking water company (PAM) excavation project on Jalan Legok, Kelapa Dua, Tangerang, died after being buried under the soil he had dug.
Another victim is Nurdin, a excavation worker who only suffered injuries as a result of the incident.
Kelapa Dua police chief, Kompol Tribuana Roseno confirmed the incident. The incident occurred on Monday, February 7, at 14.00 WIB.
"That's right, the victim on behalf of Dafa Muhammad from Garut, died," Tribuana said when contacted, Monday, February 7.
Tribuana explained that the incident began when Dapa, Nurdin and two other colleagues cleared the ground next to the HDPE PDAM pipe which the two PDAM pipes would connect.
"They cleaned the soil of the HDPE PDAM pipe which will be connected between the two PDAM pipes," said Tribuana.
After clearing the pipe, the two workers managed to climb out of the excavation. However, suddenly the soil from the excavation collapsed and finally hit Dapa and Nurdin.
"Nurdin managed to save himself and suffered injuries to his face, shoulders and legs," he explained.
The victim has been rushed to the Tangerang District Hospital for a post-mortem.
"The body was brought to Tangerang Regency," he said.
