Kemendikbudristek: Learning In Schools Adjusted To Pandemic Conditions

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) said that learning in schools must be adapted to the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Learning must pay attention to children's health and pay attention to the situation of COVID-19 transmission in the area. There must be adjustments, especially for PPKM Level 2 areas, we will give discretion," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture Suharti as quoted by Antara, Monday, February 7.

Regions with PPKM Level 2 were approved to be given discretion to be able to adjust face-to-face learning (PTM) with 100 percent student capacity to 50 percent student capacity. 100 percent.

"But that doesn't mean it has to be released, health protocols must run, vaccinations for educators of education staff must continue to be encouraged and learning mechanisms must be encouraged in such a way," he explained.

Suharti explained that the local government could decide for itself whether to continue holding 100 percent PTM, 50 percent PTM, or PJJ (Distance Learning) by referring to the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs.

"Local governments do not need to submit, but they decide for themselves based on the Ministry of Home Affairs, at what level they are and what kind of learning will be carried out," he explained.

Based on the Ministry of Home Affairs, local governments need to ensure strict implementation of health protocols (prokes) by education units, implementation of surveillance of confirmed cases of COVID-19 and surveillance of adherence to health procedures, acceleration of vaccination for educators, education staff, and students.

Including ensuring the temporary suspension of limited PTM based on the results of epidemiological surveillance in accordance with the provisions in the Four Ministerial Decree.

The implementation of PTM is limited to PPKM Level 1, level 3, and level 4 areas while still following the Four Ministerial Decree. The Joint Decree (SKB) of the Four Ministers concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Learning in the 2019 Coronavirus Disease Pandemic has been stipulated on December 21, 2021 and contains provisions that are adaptive to the PPKM level.

Another adjustment agreed with Kemendikbudristek is the decision of the parents. Parents may choose their children to take limited PTM or take distance learning.
