9 Soldiers Battalion 714 Who Wants Poso Terrorist DPOs To Get Rank Up
PALU - Nine soldiers of the 714th/SM Infantry Battalion who participated in the hunt for the Poso terrorist wanted list (DPO) received an extraordinary promotion award for their achievements in Operation Madago Raya stage III/2021 in Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi.
The awarding of the KPLB was held at the Korem 132/Tadulako Headquarters field, in Palu, Central Sulawesi, Monday, February 7.
"Each soldier was promoted to one level higher than his original rank," said the Commander of Korem 132/Tadulako, Brigadier General Toto Nurwanto, quoted by Antara.
The nine soldiers also searched for the East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) group and helped evacuate the Poso terrorist DPO who died after a shootout between the TNI's Tricakti 3 Koopsgabsus Team and a terrorist group on July 11, 2021, in the Tokasa Mountains, Tanalanto Village, South Parigi District, Kabubapten. Parigi Moutong.
"Giving promotions to soldiers is valued for merit, dedication and achievement in carrying out direct tasks, both combat and non-combat tasks," said Brigadier General Toto.
Currently, the TNI/Polri coalition continues to hunt down the Poso MIT group's DPOs in the Poso, Sigi and Parigi Moutong regencies. In addition to exploring the mountains in the area of operation, the TNI and Polri carry out socialization activities on the prevention and dangers of understanding radicalism and terrorism.
"Corporal Dua I Putu Endrik Wiliawan and eight colleagues who received the KPLB award for their satisfactory achievements in best service to this institution," he said.
The awarding of this rank is expected to be a motivation for other soldiers to improve the quality of performance of the personnel of Korem 132/Tadulako.
"There are many things we can do, not only in operating assignments, but as a territorial unit we also have the opportunity, in accordance with the Army Chief of Staff's orders to attend and help the difficulties of the people around us," said Brigadier General Toto.
