Alfamart, Indomaret, Golden Market, Roxy Shops, And Hypermart In Jember Already Implemented IDR 14,000 Cooking Oil
JAKARTA - The price of packaged cooking oil in a number of traditional markets in Jember Regency, East Java, is still high, ranging from IDR 18,000 to IDR 20,000 per liter, above the Highest Retail Price (HET) set by the Ministry of Trade.
"The price of 2 liter packaged cooking oil in traditional markets is still expensive at Rp. 40,000 and the price has not fallen like in modern retail stores and supermarkets," said Haryati, a cooking oil buyer at Tanjung Jember Market, quoted from Antara, Monday, February 7 .
According to him, cooking oil is still difficult to find in some modern retail stores close to his house, so he is forced to buy cooking oil at traditional markets because the oil stock runs out.
"Incidentally, the cooking oil at home ran out, then I looked at Indomaret and Alfamart near my house, there wasn't any, so I had to buy 2 liter packaged cooking oil at Tanjung Market while shopping," he said.
He hopes that the price of cooking oil in traditional markets can go down in accordance with government regulations, namely Rp. 14,000 per liter, as in a number of modern retail stores.
Meanwhile, Head of the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) Jember Bambang Saputro said the price of packaged cooking oil in traditional markets was still around Rp.
"They still buy packaged cooking oil at a price above Rp. 14 thousand per liter, so they sell it to consumers according to the price they bought at the distributor," he said.
He said the officers' survey results related to the price of cooking oil in several traditional markets on February 7, 2022, namely at Tegalbesar Market at Rp. 18,000 per liter, at Tanjung Market at Rp. 20 thousand per liter, and at Kreyongan Market at Rp. 14,500 per liter.
"Several supermarkets and networked retail stores in Jember have implemented one cooking oil price in accordance with government policies, including Alfamart, Indomaret, Golden Market, Roxy Shopping, and Hypermart," he said.
Bambang said the prices of several basic commodities in traditional markets were still stable, such as premium rice ranging from Rp. 12,000 to Rp. 12,500 per kilogram, granulated sugar from Rp. 13,000 to Rp. 13,500 per kilogram, chicken eggs from Rp. 18 thousand to Rp. 19 thousand per kilogram.
