Erik Spoelstra's Durant Team Will Be In The All-Star Game February 20
JAKARTA - Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra will lead Tim Durant against Tim LeBron in the 2022 NBA All-Star game on February 20.
This was confirmed after the Heat became the best team in the Eastern Conference until the 16th weekend with a 34-20 win-loss score, following the defeat suffered by the Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls were defeated by the Philadelphia 76ers 108-119 at the United Center, Sunday local time (Monday WIB), so they had to drop to second place in the East standings with a 33-20 record.
This is the second time Spoelstra will accompany the team in an All-Star match after leading the Eastern Conference Team in 2013.
Spoelstra is currently in his 14th season as head coach of the Heat and 27th since he has been on the Miami team.
In December, he was named the NBA Eastern Conference Coach of the Year, the ninth best monthly coach title of his career.
Spoelstra is the coach with the most wins in Heat history and has led the team to two NBA championships in 2012 and 2013, five Eastern Conference titles and 10 play-off appearances.
Spoelstra will lead a team captained by Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant against a team captained by Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James accompanied by Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams.
