Police Examine The Scene Of Deadly Tourism Bus Accident That Killed 13 People In Imogiri Bantul
BANTUL - The Yogyakarta Special Region Police Team, together with the Bantul Resort Police, held a crime scene (TKP) of a single tourism bus accident that caused 13 deaths on Jalan Imogiri-Dlingo, to be precise Bukit Bego, Imigori, Bantul.
"The data that we will collect this morning will be compiled, then we will take measurements of the crime scene shooting for our conversion, we will visualize the data into a three-dimensional mode to find out roughly what is happening here," said the Traffic Director. DIY Police Commissioner Iwan Saktiadi on the sidelines of a crime scene in Bantul reported by Antara, Monday, February 7.
According to him, the area of Mangunan, Dlingo, Bantul, including the scene of a single bus accident carrying a group of tourists from Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java, is hilly, with the contours of the road going up and down with sharp bends.
"As for the topography here, it is hills where it also follows the hill up and down and then accompanied by several sharp turns, the incline or descent is quite steep, of course the skills of a driver are required to operate a vehicle in a situation like this," he said.
However, the police are still unable to conclude the cause of a single traffic accident after the bus hit a cliff on the right side of the road until it was crushed, because the crime scene and data collection at the scene are still in process.
"In this case, we cannot conclude whether the driver has done things or steps that should have been taken or there are other things that interfere, so that the driver cannot control the vehicle before the accident," he said.
He said that the temporary TKP results found fragments of roadblocks near the accident site, meaning that the infrastructure to assist drivers or road users in supporting the safety side has been fulfilled.
"This means that after we check that the signs are fulfilled, the infrastructure is met, the markings are quite clear, later we will collect all of this and then we will discuss it together. We will also invite expert mechanical witnesses to explain the bus from the mechanical side, how the braking system, steering, or engine system works. problem," he said.
The accident began when the tourist bus with Police Number AD 1507 EH was traveling from east to west or from the Pine Forest Mangunan towards Imogiri passing the Imogiri-Dlingo road section which is a tourist route on Sunday (6/2) at around 13.30 WIB.
However, on the descent to Bukit Bego, the bus suddenly ran out of control and swerved to the right because a car was moving slowly in the same direction in front of it, because the bus swayed uncontrollably, it hit a cliff in the north of the road, and there was a single traffic accident.
The number of passengers on the tourism bus was 47 people, with 13 people dying at the scene or during treatment at the hospital, while the remaining 34 people were injured and treated in several hospitals.
