Gambit Film Rejected By 20th Century Fox, Channing Tatum Trauma Can't Watch Marvel Productions

JAKARTA - The rejection of the Gambit solo film project by 20th Century Fox turned out to have a negative impact on actor Channing Tatum. He admitted that he had not been able to watch the big screen of Marvel's production due to the crash of the project.

Previously, he had worked very hard to direct, write a script, and be the main character for a film that features one of the iconic characters from the X-Men. Unfortunately, 20th Century Fox doesn't seem to have convinced Channing to sit in the director's chair.

"When the Gambit project failed, I was traumatized. I closed myself off from Marvel and haven't been able to watch their films," said Channing as quoted by Acehowbiz, Sunday, January 6.

"I really love the character (Gambit). It's very sad to feel like losing a friend because I was so ready to play him," he added.

Reid Carolin, who is Channing Tatum's partner, in writing the script for the solo film Gambit, explained that the project failed due to the effects of 20th Century Fox's merger with Disney in 2019. "We have opened a casting, set up a production office, and are ready to shoot in New Orleans for the film. this project," said Reid

Despite feeling disappointed and sad, the star of 21 Jump Street (2012) did not give up and still wants to play Gambit if given the chance. For him, this mutant character is different, especially in terms of fashion.

"Of course I'm still very interested in playing Gambit. I may not have to direct it, maybe that's part of my arrogance. If most superheroes have clothes that have benefits like Batman belts. Gambit is not like that, what he wears is always cool because the character really likes fashion," the lid.
