Chelsea Won Hard 2-1 Over Plymouth 3rd Caste Club

JAKARTA - Chelsea managed to bounce back and win hard 2-1 over English third tier club Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup fourth round at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night WIB.

Cesar Apilizcueta and Marcos Alonso scored two Chelsea goals. Meanwhile, Plymouth's goal was contributed by Gillesphey.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 3rd minute through Jorginho's penalty, but the ball was just wide of the Plymouth goal.

Reported by Antara, Saturday, February 5, Plymouth immediately responded with a goal in the 8th minute. Gillesphey headed the ball from a free kick that left Kepa Arrizabalaga helpless. The score became 1-0.

Chelsea responded to the goal two minutes later. Mateo Kovacic's shot almost went into goal, but the ball just hit the crossbar.

The Blues again tried to score in the 33rd minute through right-back Cesar Apilizcueta's strike but Michael Cooper was still quick to keep the ball.

In the 38th minute, Chelsea had a golden opportunity to score. However, Kovacic's shot hit the post again.

They finally equalized in the 41st minute through Apilizcueta's heel in the penalty area after receiving Mason Mount's cross.

The first half ended at 1-1.

In the 58th minute, the Blues scored the second goal through Cesar Apilizcueta's efforts. However, the referee annulled because the Chelsea captain was already in an offside position.

Thomas Tuchel's side continued to press Plymouth to score the second goal.

An opportunity was created by Romelu Lukaku in the 74th minute. Mason Mount sent a pass to the Belgian national team striker in the penalty box, he then fired a shot into the top left corner which Cooper was able to keep out.

Both teams failed to add a goal in the full 90 minutes and the game went into extra time.

Chelsea were running out of attacking ideas and they tried to fix it by bringing in Saul to replace Mason Mount.

The goal the home team had been waiting for finally appeared in the 105th minute. A good cooperative game between Kai Havert and Timo Werner was completed by Marcos Alonso's left footed shot in the penalty box. Chelsea now lead 2-1.

Pylmouth had a golden opportunity to equalize after the referee pointed to the spot after Sarr fouled Hardie in the 117th minute. However, Ryan Hardie failed to score after his shot was saved by Kepa. The score remains 2-1.

The 2-1 position lasted until the referee ended the match and Chelsea advanced to the next round of the FA Cup.
