Mahfud MD: HMI Builds Indonesia Based On Prosperous Pancasila
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD said the Islamic Student Association (HMI) has a goal to build an Indonesia based on Pancasila that is prosperous with an Islamic breath.
“In Indonesia, HMI members are free and independent to choose different political houses, political parties (political parties), and institutions. But the goal is the same, namely to build Indonesia based on Pancasila that is prosperous with an Islamic breath, Islam rahmatan lil 'alamin," said Mahfud, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 5.
He conveyed the statement through a tweet on Mahfud MD's official Twitter account with the username @mohmahfudmd, which was monitored from Jakarta, Saturday. Mahfud delivered this statement in order to wish HMI a happy 75th Birthday.
"Do not enter the palace of the king (ruler) only through one door, but enter through different doors," Mahfud said in his tweet.
Mahfud quoted this statement from the advice of the Prophet Jacob to his children, as narrated in the Qur'an, "Laa tadkhulu min babin wahidin wadkhulu min abwabin mutafarriqah."
"This can be guided by HMI," said Mahfud.
Quoted from the page of the Executive Board of the Islamic Student Association, HMI is the largest Islamic Student Organization in Indonesia. This organization has the aim of fostering Islamic students to become "ulul albab" people who are also responsible for the realization of a society that is blessed by Allah SWT.
This student organization was founded in Yogyakarta on 14 Rabiul Awal 1366 H to coincide with February 5, 194, on the initiative of Lafran Pane and 14 Islamic College students.
"Happy 75th Anniversary of the Islamic Student Association," said Mahfud.
