OKU Police Hunt For Cannabis Garden Owners
BATURAJA - The Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Police, South Sumatra, are hunting for the owner of a cannabis plantation found in Talang Bancong Atas, Sindang Negeri Village, Sosoh Buay Termite District.
"The perpetrator with the initials EP (35) is currently being sought by officers," said Police Chief Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), AKBP Danu Agus Purnomo, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 5.
The suspect, who is a recidivist in a case of violent theft in Lampung Province, is being hunted by officers for deliberately planting dozens of cannabis plants under the guise of a coffee plantation in the garden.
However, the perpetrator managed to escape before officers came to raid his garden which is near the Talang Bancong Atas gorge, Sindang Negeri Village, Sosoh Buay Termite District, OKU Regency.
"It is suspected that the officers arrived and the perpetrators managed to escape," he said.
From the results of the raid, the police secured evidence of 10 cannabis plants as high as almost one meter planted by the perpetrators at seven points in his garden.
Officers also found a box of cigarettes containing eight rolled marijuana leaves, a brown backpack, and an improvised firearm that the perpetrator kept in the garden hut.
"We are still developing this case and we have formed a team to arrest the perpetrators," he said.
