VIDEO: Dorce's Gender On Women's Identity Cards, MUI: The State Doesn't Regulate Burials
JAKARTA - Dorce Gamalama once admitted that he had received state recognition for his gender status as a woman, after a sex change operation was performed. It may also have made Dorce wish to be buried as a woman. According to Miftahul Huda, Secretary of the MUI Fatwa Commission to VOI through a virtual interview, Friday, February 4, even though it has received state recognition regarding gender, the state does not regulate the shari'a on how to funeral a person. So in accordance with the fatwa that has been issued by the MUI, the funeral of a person who has changed sex must be carried out according to the gender at birth. Watch the full video below.
