TNI Commander Reminds Soldiers To Be Humanist And Persuasive While On Duty

JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa reminded every soldier to always prioritize a humane and persuasive attitude, especially those who are on duty in border areas.

"For example, if there are border crossers who do not have documents and so on, and they are not armed, we cannot shoot," said TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 31.

This was conveyed by the TNI Commander to the Unit Commanders and Regional Military Commanders in the Infantry Battalion 755/Merauke area, Papua.

Moreover, according to General Andika Perkasa, the passerby is not necessarily intentional or ignorant. Plus there is no fence at the border.

"Tell all its members not to be so easy to use weapons," he said.

According to him, a persuasive and humanist approach must always be put forward by every soldier on duty. However, TNI personnel must always be vigilant and careful in carrying out their duties, especially in border areas.

Not only that, the soldiers on duty must also carry out territorial development and social communication in their respective areas. The goal is that the relationship or closeness between the TNI and the community continues to be well established.

The TNI Commander also asked about the obstacles faced by personnel while on duty in the field. This briefing aims to ensure the policy of the Commander in Chief regarding the dislocation of the task force to carry out territorial duties in their respective regions.

In addition, the TNI Commander also gave directions on the policy of providing incentives that had been received by the Task Forces under the control of Infantry Battalion 755/Yalet.

The provision of incentives regulated in the law must still be carried out without any policy of cutting rights from any party, he said.

TNI General Andika Perkasa advised the Danramil that no one else would take advantage of any part. Policies and tasks carried out by all TNI personnel must remain in accordance with statutory regulations.
