Man Pretends To Be Limping Blocking A Car Using Old Wounds To Trick Residents And Potential Victims
JAKARTA - East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Budi Sartono said the suspect, AF (46) used his old wounds to trick local residents and potential victims. The perpetrator has had a disability since 2012.
"Indeed (the perpetrator) was injured, but the wound was an old wound. So in 2012 the suspect was hit by a truck so his leg had a defect, so there was a defect in his leg, so he slightly limped on his way," said Kombes Budi to reporters at the East Jakarta Metro Police. , Sunday, January 30.
An attempted extortion using hit-and-run mode occurred in Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta (Jaktim). The perpetrator pretended to be limping, but the action ended in failure.
The incident occurred in the Pasar Rebo area, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, January 26. At first the police received news of a hit-and-run mode.
Kombes Budi explained that at first there were two men riding motorbikes. They chase the driver of the Avanza car.
The two men wanted to stop the Avanza on the pretext of asking for responsibility for the foot that was run over. The man also shouted at other passing motorists and local residents said that his leg was run over by the Avanza driver.
However, local residents did not respond. Even calling the perpetrator a lie. Residents then asked the driver to leave because the road was already congested due to the perpetrators stopping the car.
The perpetrator then asked the driver of the car to be held accountable. But the driver of the car ignored him. Because the perpetrator persisted, finally a verbal altercation occurred.
"After seeing the video, our team immediately sent it to the field at the scene of the crime. The results of the examination of witnesses at the crime scene, including security, people guarding there, including several Gojek and parking people, it is true that there is a mode of occurrence of people pretending to be stepped on and extorting," said Kombes Budi.
"We carried out an investigation by members of the East Jakarta Police and the Pasar Rebo Police, combing the scene to finally arrest the suspect in the Depok area," he continued.
For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Articles 368 and 318 of the Criminal Code.
"The articles that we apply are Article 368 and Article 168 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 4 years and 9 years," said the Police Chief.
