Garena Returns To Present An International Esports Event

JAKARTA - The global online game publisher, Call of Duty: Mobile, Garena will soon present an international esports tournament, Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM) World Championship 2021 Presented by Sony.

In Indonesia, Garena has opened registration for the Major Series Season 5 tournament which will start on July 8, 2021. The total prizes that players get are around US$2 million or Rp28 billion.

This tournament is a national-level qualifying round before proceeding to the Garena Region Qualifier tournament and finally heading to the 2021 CODM World Championship Presented by Sony.

“Through the various games that we publish, Garena supports all players to be able to exert their full potential through various esports tournaments that we hold regularly. Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2021 Presented By Sony is an arena for players to become Indonesia's mainstay esports athlete," said Garena Call of Duty: Mobile Indonesia producer Edmundo Swidoyono in a statement, Monday 5 July.

Sony is indeed a sponsor in this esports tournament, so Sony's latest smartphone, Xperia 1 III, will become the official mobile device of the world championship and qualifier round. Players can compete at the highest level with the 120FPS gaming experience provided by the Xperia 1 III.

Not only that, but players can also get various interesting in-game items every week during the solo and team rounds, namely Frame - 2021 Competitor, M4LMG - Playmaker, QXR - Playmaker, M16 - Playmaker, RUS-79U - Playmaker, Manta Ray - 2021 MVP, Locus - Playmaker, AS VAL - Playmaker, Merc 5 - 2021 Champ, and 1000CP.

There are also special epic characters in the bag along with global influencers that players can get like Hawksnest, iFerg, and Bobby Plays  by simply registering and playing 10 ranked matches over the weekend in the solo round and 30 ranked matches in the team round with their respective teams.
