JAKARTA - Coda, a leading digital trading platform, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (EKRAF), to accelerate the growth of the gaming ecosystem in the country.

Through this partnership, Coda and EKRAF will collaborate to equip Indonesian game developers with comprehensive knowledge, commercial tools, and business capabilities.

This step was taken to encourage the development of their business scale, so that they can expand their global audience reach and increase global competitiveness.

Deputy for Digital Creativity & Technology, EKRAF, Muhammad Neil El Himam said, this collaboration is in line with the mandate of President Prabowo Subianto in advancing the creative economy industry, including games, in the country.

"Well, when we talk about the ecosystem, it's not just the human resources of the game itself. But overall, including the payment system, the transaction, and also the distribution and promotion. And here, we see Coda as part of the ecosystem, which we need to join to advance the Indonesian game industry," said Neil in a media briefing session on Thursday, June 25.

This MoU also continues the series of collaborations that have been established between Coda and EKRAF. Through the full support of EKRAF, this joint initiative has previously managed to increase the capacity of more than 70 local developers through the Global Game Jam Pre-Workshop in Jakarta.

In addition, the expansion of the international market reach for home-grown games continues to be improved through Codashop, Coda's marketplace for in-game and digital content purchases.

Coda CEO Shane Happach is committed to supporting more local game developers on their career journeys, by expanding access to devices, expertise, and a global network.

"We hope to help more game studios in Indonesia build sustainable businesses and reach players around the world," said Happach.

Going forward, Coda and EKRAF will continue to explore various other programs to support the sustainable growth of Indonesia's digital creative industry.

The collaboration between the two aims to ensure that Indonesian creators are able to access global opportunities while supporting the long-term growth, resilience, and competitiveness of the Indonesian game industry.
