JAKARTA - PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk (Emtek Group) announced a partnership with Google Cloud to bring a new way of producing premium original content for various platforms in Southeast Asia.

This collaboration is part of Emtek's "Studio of the Future" vision, by presenting generative AI technology that helps professional creators reduce repetitive technical work, so that they can focus more on creativity and story quality.

This initiative is centered on VidioGen, an AI platform for content production developed by the Vidio technology team using Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, as well as the Veo, Imagen, and Gemini models.

As the need for high-quality content that is relevant to the audience increases, Emtek is now expanding the use of VidioGen to its various media and entertainment portfolios.

"The foundation of the creative industry will always be based on the people behind it - writers, directors, actors, and many other professionals who bring a story to life. Technology has proven to be a strong supporter, helping our team work more effectively, more efficiently, and ultimately deliver better quality stories," said Sutanto Hartono, Managing Director of Emtek Group.

This strengthened cooperation is built on the success of the Somat Family, an animated series that first aired on Indosiar in 2013 and is now presented again to today's audience through Mentari TV and Vidio.

The generative AI technology from VidioGen is used to improve production quality without changing the original storyline or the creative vision of the creators.

VidioGen's capabilities include:

Outpainting: Allows artists and cinematographers to expand the image frame beyond its original limits, for example, turning a close-up into a panoramic view.

Inpainting: Allows the visual effects team to quickly make changes to details in textures, properties, and lighting in an existing frame, reducing the need for redrawing or re-shooting.

Emtek is also adding Gemini-based transcription, subtitle, and dubbing features to VidioGen, to help the language team speed up the distribution of content without losing the essence of the story.

In addition to expanding the use of VidioGen in the Google Cloud infrastructure, Emtek also continues to deepen its cooperation with Google Cloud to provide AI applications for employees across the group of companies.

Emtek has also established an AI Center of Excellence (CoE) to lead the next wave of innovation across its business portfolio.

"Emtek's success with VidioGen shows that Google Cloud's full-stack AI can help media industry players turn technical challenges into new creative spaces," said Mark Micallef, Managing Director, Southeast Asia, Google Cloud.
