JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, assessed that the increasingly massive use of artificial intelligence risks undermining critical thinking skills, especially among students and professionals.
According to him, these concerns have begun to occur in the world of education. Therefore, Nezar emphasized that the development of digital talent cannot only focus on technical ability.
"Don't let us lose critical power because everything is handed over to AI. It has already started to happen in the world of education," he said, quoted on Monday, April 20.
Nezar said that future talent must understand how to interact with AI appropriately, be able to control its use, and also put forward the principle that AI design must put humans at the center.
"AI design must be human-centric so that the technology developed has a positive impact on humans. In decision-making, AI must still place humans at the center through the human in the loop approach," he explained.
Not only that, Nezar also highlighted the tendency of instant use of AI. He assessed that this condition has the potential to weaken the ability of analysis and ethical assessment if it is not balanced with awareness of use.
Therefore, according to him, digital talent must still be able to critically evaluate every AI output. Because, the ability to think and make decisions should not be completely transferred to the machine.
