JAKARTA - OpenAI has launched the ChatGPT add-in for Microsoft Excel in a beta version. With this integration, registered users can access ChatGPT directly in the spreadsheet.
Thanks to the support of GPT-5.4, the new Artificial Intelligence (AI) model OpenAI released, Pad accountants and analysts can work faster. They can explain their needs in natural language, then ChatGPT will compose the appropriate Excel formula.
This system is able to perform data analysis and budgeting without damaging the existing structure in the spreadsheet. ChatGPT can also analyze large amounts of data in multiple workbooks at once.
This AI assistant can even explain the reasons behind the changes in output and correct any found formula errors. Every step taken by the AI will be accompanied by an explanation to help workers keep growing.
ChatGPT will provide updated cell references so that users can easily audit formulas. Before permanently changing data, the system will always ask for permission first.
This is done so that each editing step can be reviewed or canceled if the results are not satisfactory. Although it is able to do several calculations, OpenAI notes that very complex formulas still require manual refinement.
Currently, the new beta access is available for paid users in the United States, Canada, and Australia. OpenAI has also planned to bring a similar integration to the Google Sheets platform in the near future.
The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
