Tokocrypto Hopes ICEx's Presence Can Boost the Growth of the Indonesian Crypto Industry

JAKARTA - Indonesia officially launched the International Crypto Exchange (ICEx), as the second crypto exchange that operates under regulation under the supervision of the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

With the support of strategic funding worth IDR 1 trillion, ICEx is positioned as a direct competitor to CFX as well as part of efforts to strengthen the national crypto market structure to be more competitive and sustainable.

Tokocrypto CEO, Calvin Kizana, assessed that the existence of more than one regulated crypto exchange would create healthy competition and strengthen the foundation of the crypto asset market in Indonesia.

"With the presence of a new regulated OJK cryptocurrency exchange, the market structure becomes more competitive and is no longer based on one actor. This is important to encourage transparency, efficiency, and increase investor confidence," Calvin said in a statement quoted Sunday, January 18.

Calvin optimistic, the presence of ICEx can be a positive catalyst for the growth of the industry in the future. Moreover, if you look at the number of Indonesian crypto investors who continue to increase every year.

OJK noted that the number of consumers actually showed an increasing trend. Until November 2025, the number of crypto asset consumers was recorded at 19.56 million, an increase from the previous month.

He stated that the growth reflects the public's continued strong interest in crypto assets, even though the market is experiencing a consolidation phase.

"The increase in the number of consumers shows that the industry's fundamentals are still solid. With the support of increasingly complete and competitive market infrastructure, we are optimistic that crypto transaction activity can grow again healthily and sustainably in the future," concluded Calvin.
