JAKARTA - Communication and Digital Minister Meutya Hafid revealed that the recovery of post-disaster connectivity in the Aceh region has increased to 73 percent.

"Aceh in the last one day, 17 to 18 (December), we see a fairly high increase, from the 50s, early this morning at 00:00, BTS is on-air at 73.5 percent," said Meutya at the Implementation of the Joint Apple Posko Alert for Quality of Telecommunications Services Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 on Friday, December 19.

Meanwhile, in North Sumatra and West Sumatra it has improved with a recovery in each region of 97-99 percent. Meutya also appreciated mobile operators who continue to recover in affected locations.

"So I feel the need to express my gratitude to my friends. West Sumatra has previously been above 98-99 percent on-air BTS. Well, for North Sumatra it has also been on-air at 97-98 percent. This is also stable," explained Meutya further.

Seeing that the connectivity in the two regions of Sumatra is stable, Komdigi asked the opsel to focus on network recovery in Aceh, especially in the Nermeria, Aceh Tamiang, and Gayo Lues areas.

The Minister of Communication and Information hopes that the recovery of connectivity in Aceh can reach 100 percent in the near future.

"So we once again for 73 percent, even though this is also an increase, it must still reach 100 percent. So we are indeed continuing to intensify to encourage friends, that we can increase this, it means that it must be able to increase again in the near future," he said.

Telkomsel President Director, Nugroho, mentioned several challenges faced by opsel in efforts to handle network recovery, one of which includes the limited number of electricity supplies and transportation constraints.

"So the main obstacle is the electricity because many sutets have collapsed and have not been able to be connected back, then the integration with existing power plants has not been able to be done completely, until now there are still approximately 4 power plants that are still not able to operate normally," said Nugroho.

"The second is in terms of access or transport, so many fiber optic lines have been disrupted or cut off, due to the impact of the flood and landslide disasters there," he said.
