JAKARTA - Google Gemini, Google's flagship artificial intelligence chatbot, is preparing a major update to its interface and content management. This update aims to make user history more structured and accessible, as well as improve the overall user experience on its Android app.

Currently, all user-generated content - from image creations, automated spreadsheets, to research reports - is stored in one section called "My Stuff" in the Gemini history. However, the latest report obtained from the Android app teardown version 16.50.55.sa.arm64 revealed that Google is working to divide the content into more separate categories.

The new arrangement is expected to divide content into three main categories: Media, which will house images and videos; Documents, for storing documents or reports created with the help of AI; and Purchases, which is thought to track items purchased through Google's recently launched agentic shopping experience. This separation will make it easier for users to rediscover their creations without having to sift through a pile of diverse results.

In addition to reorganizing content, Gemini is also overhauling the look of its input box interface. Currently, the input box appears as a card that protrudes from the bottom of the screen. In the design that is being prepared, the input box is expected to break off and appear as an unbound element at the bottom of the screen.

Although this design is still in the process of adjustment (with the placement of some icons that are still too close to the edge), this change shows Google's designer's efforts to create a cleaner and more modern look.

To provide a more intuitive experience, Gemini is also developing a new haptics (vibration feedback) system. Users will feel a gentle vibration as confirmation that their prompt or message has been received, and also when the response from Gemini is almost processed. This haptics feedback is built specifically into the Gemini app, although details may change before this update is publicly launched.

Overall, these updates - ranging from better content categorization, a separate input box design, to informative haptics - signal Google's move to make Gemini a tool that is not only powerful in content creation but also organized and user-friendly.
