Kaspersky Detects 500,000 Dangerous Files Every Day By 2025

JAKARTA - Kaspersky detection systems found an average of 500,000 malicious files per day by 2025, an increase of about 7 percent compared to the previous year.

According to the report, several types of threats experienced significant spikes, such as password-stealer detections rose by 59 percent, spyware increased 51 percent, while backdoor detection grew 6 percent compared to 2024.

Data from the Kaspersky Security Bulletin report also reveals that windows remain the main target with 48 percent of users affected by attacks, while Mac users reach 29 percent.

Overall, 27 percent of users are exposed to online threats that take advantage of internet connections (malware and phishing), and another 33 percent are affected by threats spreading through physical devices such as USB and hidden files in software installations.

Kaspersky's Head of Research Threat, Alexander Liskin, emphasized that organizations are obliged to strengthen cybersecurity strategies to prevent prolonged operational disruptions.

This increasingly complex threat landscape makes the implementation of a formidable cybersecurity strategy very important for organizations, as failures in its implementation could lead to months of operational cessation in the event of an attack, Alex said.
