Google Activates SOS Label For Disaster Search In Aceh, North Sumatra, And West Sumatra

JAKARTA - Google ensures that the SOS Alert feature has been activated for floods and landslides that hit Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

This feature appears automatically on the top page of the search when users search for disaster-related information in the area with a red label that reads flood alert.

Google Indonesia Communication Manager, Feliciana Wienathan, emphasized that the SOS Alert activation is a standard procedure that immediately appears when a large-scale emergency occurs.

"If my friends now may check Aceh floods, North Sumatra natural disasters, or West Sumatra, there is already an SOS alert. So it always exists when there is a natural disaster, when there is an emergency, it is always activated, especially for a disaster of this size," Feli said when met on Thursday, December 4 in Jakarta.

This feature is intended to help people get quick and trusted information when major disasters such as floods, earthquakes, or forest fires occur.

The floating alert label was also followed by news about the keywords being sought, as well as location points affected by the General Info section.
