JAKARTA - Amazon Web Services (AWS) says that they will invest US$50 billion (Rp832 trillion). These funds are disbursed to improve government technology.

Specifically, AWS invests in developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) computing infrastructure. This infrastructure will be specially improved so that its AI capabilities can support the needs of the US government.

In line with this collaboration, federal government agencies will gain access to AWS's various AI services. Through this project, AWS will also add 1.3 gigawatts of special computing power for the government's AI workload.

The expansion of this access includes various AWS products such as Amazon Sage Maker AI for development and Amazon Bedrock for model implementation. In addition, the government will also get access to Anthropic's Claude chatbot.

The project, which will run from next year, will place AWS as the main provider of AI solutions for Washington. This step is in line with AWS' long-term commitment to the public sector.

"Our investment in government AI infrastructure and cloud specifically designed will fundamentally change the way federal agencies take advantage of supercomputers," said AWS CEO Matt Garman, quoted on Tuesday, November 25.

According to Garman, this investment will eliminate technological barriers faced by the US government. This investment is believed to be able to encourage America to be at the forefront of AI development.
