Vivo made the world of gadgets slip a little today. A phone called mini suddenly surpassed the AnTu Tuu X200 Ultra' score of the classmate who usually shows off his muscles' thanks to the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The information is not a roadside rumor, but was immediately announced by Vivo executive, Han Bo Xiao, through his Weibonya account.

Han confirmed that the Vivo S50 Pro mini will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, Qualcomm chipset which will officially be released on November 26, 2025. The combination is even more sadistic because it is accompanied by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, exactly the same as the X300 and X200 Ultra series. So the mini' label is really just a matter of size, not energy.

Han also leaked the results of the initial benchmark. The mini S50 Pro scored about 3 million points on AnTuTu v10 on room temperature testing. That figure shot up far from typical mid-premium, even nearly 600 thousand points above X200 Ultra which made 2.9 million on the April 2025 ranking. The distance is even more terrifying when compared to the Dimensity-based X200 Pro mini 9400 Plus, or X200 FE which only gets half of it.

On the camera side, this device also doesn't have a 'mini' vibe. Vivo reportedly buried a 50 MP main sensor plus a 50 MP periscope lens that rarely appears on compact phones. In other camps, Honor is also preparing Magic8 Mini, so next year the 'mini but malignant' category will be even more crowded.

One important note: this is just a benchmark score. Compact phones usually don't have a cooling room as wide as the Ultra model, so consistency of performance when playing heavy games still needs to be proven in the real world. But if this initial figure is accurate, the S50 Pro mini is on the radar as a small cellphone that has great energy, such as the character of anime that is secretly OP.
