Apple And Japanese Fashion House Issey Miyake Launch Limited IPhone Pocket Edition

JAKARTA - Apple is working with the well-known Japanese fashion house Issey Miyake launched a limited edition accessory called the iPhone Pocket a minimalist-style knitted bag that can be used to store iPhones, AirPods, or other small items.

This collaboration is a tribute to the late Issey Miyake, the legendary designer known as the creator of Steve Jobs' iconic black turtleneck. This cooperation product presents a simple, functional, but colorful design typical of Issey Miyake.

Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE have the same design approach highlighting hand skills, simplicity, and joy," said Molly Anderson, Apple's Vice President of Industrial Design. iPhone Pocket is a manifestation of these ideas, and is a natural complement to Apple products.

The iPhone Pocket is in the form of a long cloth that forms a bag in the middle to put the iPhone. The phone's rear camera is still visible, not because of its function, but as an aesthetic element.

This accessory is made with a 3D-knitting technique, namely the knitting process of one whole thread without deductions or remaining materials. This method produces environmentally friendly products made entirely from one part of the material without waste.

"The iPhone Pocket design reflects the relationship between the iPhone and its users, and illustrates the joy of wearing an iPhone in a unique way," said Yoshiyuki Miyamae, Director of Miyake Design Studio

iPhone Pocket comes in two sizes:

The short version (strap-like) costs $149.95, available in eight colors: Lemon, Mandarin, Purple, Pink, Peacock, Saphire, Cinnamon, and Black.

The long version (shoulder strap) is only available in three colors: Saphire, Cinnamon, and Black, at a price of 229.95 US dollars (Rp 3.8 million).

Apple announced that the iPhone Pocket will go on sale on November 14, 2025 at certain Apple stores and through the Apple Store online in the following countries: France, China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Britain, and the United States.

This product will not be released globally and is only available on time for the holiday season, which means its availability is likely limited by the end of 2025.

Some physical stores like Apple Ginza (Tokyo), Apple Regent Street (London), and Apple SoHo (New York) will provide Apple specialists to help buyers mix the color of their iPhone Pocket with their iPhone colors.

With a soft look, bright color, and a unique design typical of Issey Miyake, iPhone Pocket is a new fashion accessory for iPhone users who want to be stylish as well as functional.
