JAKARTA NetApp, a data intelligence infrastructure company, introduced Ransomware Resilience, the latest cyber security feature. This updated service is here to address data leakage issues.

According to NetApp's explanation in a statement, this service is able to detect data leakage. This service can help companies face increasingly advanced cyber challenges, along with the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.

In the service, NetApp integrates AI-based ransomware detection as well as two new capabilities. This capability is data leak detection for company storage and an isolated recovery environment.

"With a new AI-based capability to detect early signs of data exfiltration experiments ... we make the company's data more secure," said Gagan Gulati, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Data Services NetApp, quoted on Thursday, October 23.

This AI-based Data Leak Detection feature works by identifying unusual user behavior and file systems. This abnormal behavior is an initial indicator of potential sensitive data theft.

Once detected, the system automatically sends a warning to customers via the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution. This will help the company in acting quickly and precisely.

In addition, NetApp Ransomware Resilience also offers a new Isolated Recovery Environment. This environment ensures that the workload recovery process is carried out safely and free from malware.

Isolated environments use AI-based scanning to identify infected data and modified time points. This process guides customers to return the latest data that is safe and prevent reinfection.
