JAKARTA Meta introduced a number of the latest surveillance features on Youth Accounts. The series of updates Meta presents to these parents will be supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
The first feature introduced is the ability to disable teenage access to chats with AI Character, a feature available on WhatsApp to Instagram to communicate with favorite characters. However, access to Meta AI will not be limited.
According to Meta, the chatbot is useful for providing useful information and building educational conversations. Although access is not limited, Meta AI will certainly come with built-in protection according to the age of its users.
Meanwhile, for parents who don't want to disable their child's account access to the AI Character, Meta provides an option to block certain characters. This feature provides more detailed control flexibility according to parental preferences and assessments.
Another important feature is that parents will now gain insight into the topics their teens are discussing with AI Character and Meta AI. The hope is that parents or guardians can control their children's conversations with the AI-based character chatbot.
Meta has also updated its AI experience for teens to be guided by PG-13 ratings. Through this update, AI will provide a response that fits the rating. This feature began rolling out in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia in English.
Additional protection also includes restrictions on teens on accessible AI Character groups. They can only interact with characters that focus on education, sports, and hobbies. They will be prohibited from interacting with romance characters.
The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
