Cloudflare announced its new partnership with Giga, a joint UNICEF and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) initiative, dedicated to supporting the Government in connecting each school to the Internet.

Through this collaboration, Giga will use real-time data from Cloudflare Speed Test solutions to measure and monitor Internet connectivity in schools around the world.

This step is expected to help governments and non-profits advocate and implement better connectivity solutions in places they need the most.

Cloudflare's mission is to help build a better internet, and that means making the internet more accessible to everyone, said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare in a statement on Monday, September 29.

By helping Giga UNICEF provide additional tools to measure and monitor school connectivity around the world, Cloudflare helps ensure millions of children can access the internet and prepare themselves for the growing digital world.

" Connecting schools to the Internet is an important part to ensure that all children can access digital learning tools and information. No less important is to ensure the best quality and speed of connectivity," added Thomas Davin, Global Director, UNICEF Innovation Office.

Giga Map allows the government to determine the geographical location of schools, measure the status of real-time connectivity, identify the most effective connectivity solutions and financing strategies, then provide the government with the insights that can be followed up to improve school connectivity.
